Florence Mayor Matteo Renzi uploaded this National Geographic summary of research by National Geographic, UC San Diego's CISA3 and the City of Florence.
In November 2011 CISA3 director Maurizio Seracini delivered a talk about the Battle of Anghiari project to TEDxFirenze, discussing how to 'give a future to our past' with art conservation. (In Italian)
Photographer Dave Yoder, shooting for National Geographic, explores the mystery behind the search for a Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece, and details an effort to build a camera that might 'see' behind a brick wall and mural by a different artist.

IGERT co-PI and CISA3 associate director Tom Levy gave a talk during the Calit2 10th Anniversary Symposium in San Diego. He noted that CISA3 researchers “are taking an interdisciplinary approach to develop information technology and engineering tools to analyze archaeological data from ancient sites as well as to share and preserve these rich cultural heritage datasets.” He noted that as part of IGERT, UCSD ‘cyber-archaeologists’ aim to handle the exponential growth in data – the data avalanche – “that requires new analytical methods, cyberinfrastructure and web-based platforms to share data among researchers, conserve cultural heritage, and deliver it freely to the public.” Length: 22:32
